How Upload Works
basebox can process documents, spreadsheets, and audio files. When upload doesn't work, it's usually due to format, size, or technical limits.
Upload files correctly:
Start upload - Click on the 📎 icon or drag and drop the file into the chat
Wait for processing - Wait for confirmation "File successfully uploaded"
Reference file - Mention the file in your question: "Based on the uploaded file..."
Common Problems and Solutions
"Context window reached"
Problem: Chat is too full for additional uploads
Solution: Start a new chat
"File too large"
Problem: File exceeds 10 MB limit
Solutions:
Compress file
Split into smaller parts
Extract only relevant pages/sections
"Format not supported"
Common corrections:

.jpg→ ✅ Copy and paste text
Upload "hangs"
Solutions:
Reload page
Test different browser
Check internet connection
Try smaller file
Supported Formats
📄 Documents:
PDF - Text must be selectable
DOCX - Word documents
TXT - Simple text files
PPT/PPTX - PowerPoint presentations
📊 Spreadsheets:
XLSX - Excel format (recommended)
XLS - Older Excel format
🎵 Audio:
WAV - Best quality for transcription
MP3 - Compressed, widely used
FLAC - Lossless compression
OGG - Open-source format
Maximum file size: 10 MB per file
Unsupported Formats
These files do NOT work:
❌ CSV - Convert to Excel (.xlsx)
❌ Images (JPG, PNG) - Enter text manually
❌ Videos (MP4, AVI) - Extract audio
❌ Archives (ZIP, RAR) - Upload files individually
Tips for Successful Uploads
Check before uploading:
✅ Format unterstützt? Siehe Liste oben
✅ Unter 10 MB? Dateigröße prüfen
✅ Datei nicht beschädigt? In anderem Programm öffnen teste
For PDF problems:
Text selectable? Try to select text
Scanned PDFs don't work - Copy text manually
For Excel problems:
Use .xlsx format instead of .xls
Remove empty rows to reduce file size
Remove password protection before upload
Troubleshooting Checklist
If upload doesn't work:
✅ Start new chat - Context window might be full
✅ Check file format - Is it supported?
✅ Reduce file size - Under 10 MB?
✅ Reload browser - Fix cache issues
✅ Test different browser - Chrome, Firefox, Safari
✅ Check internet connection - Stable and fast enough?
If nothing helps:
Save file in different format
Manually copy and paste content
Contact support
