Where Is My Data?

In basebox, the storage location of your data depends on the version being used. Generally: Your chat content remains private and is not visible to other users.

Check Version

How to find out which version you're using:

  1. Click on the email icon at the bottom left

  2. Select "About"

  3. Check the entry "On Premise: Yes / No"

Data Storage Location


Cloud Version (On Premise: No)

  • Data is stored locally in the browser (cache)

  • Only you have access to your chats

  • When using a different browser or device, the data is not available



On-Premises (On Premise: Yes)

  • Data remains completely within the company network

  • No external data transmission occurs

  • Control lies completely with your organization



⚠️ Note

  • Your chat history is private and cannot be viewed by other users

  • Your employer does not have access to your chats

  • For shared devices, it is recommended to clear the browser cache
